PTSD Support

Safe, Gentle Support for Trauma Recovery… One Paw at a Time

Healing from trauma doesn’t happen overnight. And it certainly doesn’t happen by being told to “just move on.”

We offer PTSD support that’s calm, grounding and deeply compassionate… gently guided by a trained facilitator and the unconditional presence of their furry friend.

We don’t ask you to relive the trauma. We focus on helping you rebuild safety, trust and emotional regulation… at your own pace, in your own way.

Who We Help

Our PTSD support sessions are designed for:

🐾 Children who’ve experienced trauma, abuse, bullying or medical trauma

🐾 Teens struggling with hypervigilance, nightmares or emotional shutdown

🐾 Adults navigating PTSD from past relationships, military or first responder service, grief or complex life events

🐾 NDIS participants with psychosocial disability or trauma histories

🐾 Anyone seeking a safe, non-clinical space to start their healing journey

How We Help with PTSD

Our canine-assisted sessions focus on restoring the body and mind’s sense of safety and regulation.

✨ Learn how trauma affects the nervous system (in simple, empowering ways)

✨ Reduce symptoms like hyperarousal, dissociation, emotional reactivity and shutdown

✨ Rebuild trust… in your body, your surroundings and your relationships

✨ Increase emotional awareness, expression and self-compassion

✨ Gently reconnect to joy, hope and meaning… on your own terms

Why Emotional Support Dogs?

Our dogs are more than just companions… they’re co-facilitators in the healing process.

Research shows that emotional support dogs help with:

✅ Lowering cortisol (stress hormone) and easing panic responses

✅ Providing non-verbal connection and comfort

✅ Regulating heart rate, breath and body awareness

✅ Creating emotional safety for clients who find human connection difficult

For many people with PTSD, connection with a dog can feel safer than connection with people. That’s why our dogs play such an essential role in building trust and grounding during sessions.

A Different Kind of PTSD Support

We’re not here to analyse you. We’re here to walk beside you.

And if all you do in the first session is sit with a dog and breathe… that’s okay too.

We meet you exactly where you are and we honour your pace.

FAQs

Q: Is this therapy?

No, our sessions are not clinical therapy. They are therapeutic, trauma-aware experiences designed to support healing, emotional regulation and well-being.

Q: Do I need a formal PTSD diagnosis?

Not at all. If you’re carrying emotional trauma… diagnosed or not… you are welcome here.

Q: Can this be used with NDIS funding?

Yes! Many participants use their NDIS plan to access our PTSD support sessions under Capacity Building or Improved Daily Living.

Q: What if I’ve tried other supports and nothing’s worked?

You’re not alone. Many of our clients have felt the same way… until they found a space that felt truly safe and non-judgemental. Our approach is different. And sometimes, different is exactly what’s needed.
